Scott finished a show he was watching the living room and was about to come

to bed at 11 when he remembered that he didn't check all the doors so he was walking down the hall when he heard a weird noise from the boys room. He opened the door and yelled for me to come. I knew something was wrong and jumped out of bed. Jamie is just standing there throwing in the doorway, so I take his arm and lead him to the bathroom. I tried to make him throw up into the toilet, but he is scared and angry and very resistant so I just strip him quick and put him in the bathtub. (Very little time has actually passed at this point) and just then Scott brings Finn into the bathroom. What we figure happened based on Finn's appearance is that he and Jamie fell asleep together in Jamie's bed and when he woke up and started throwing up, he was right next to Finn. Finn's whole head was covered so we dumped him right in the bathtub too. Unfortunately he HATES baths right now and sobbed and started shaking. (What a shock the whole thing must have been to him, which hadn't even lasted 5 minutes at this point.) So they are both crying and confused since they were just asleep and I'm trying to wash them as fast as I can. Jamie starts telling me that I really hurt his feelings when I told him to go back in his room ( which was hours ago) so I'm telling them both I'm so sorry and I just want to hug them. Scott and I get them out of the tub and he takes them into the living room and turns on cartoons for them. He just hold Finn since he is still shaking and I have to get the baby because of course all the commotion woke her up! Once I get her all situated and we make sure the boys are ok we go into the room to survey the damage....wow, it is really sucky to be the parents! We got all the bedding and a area rug up and into a bag to deal with later and I tried to clean up everything else so the smell would go away. Scott set up some fans so that helped a lot. It wasn't much fun since Scott and I were just sick on Tuesday and I wasn't feeling 100% yet, but I made up Jamie's bed again and went back out into the living room. Finn was fine at this point and started running around and bothering Jamie so I put him back to bed. I was going to let him sleep out there, but he wasn't going to settle down unfortunately. So I got my pillows and sent Scott to bed since he had to go to work today. I settled Jamie on his little pull out couch with a bucket and a towel and we laid down. He threw up at 2, 4, 5 and 5:30, but as of right now he might be done. He has a little fever, but seems to be feeling better since he is pestering me for little drinks of 7up. (They sure bounce back fast!) What a day for it to be Finn's 2nd birthday! I can't even believe it. I hope I can get the cupcakes made and frosted today for tomorrow and I hope Jamie is better. Kids are always interesting! The worst was at 5 he woke me up out of a dream that they were all throwing up!

Great Idea

Today Jamie was cutting paper, which consists of him using his safety scissors and cutting pieces of construction paper into confetti and then getting bored and leaving it all over and moving on to something else. So I look over and he has a piece of paper 2 or 3 inches long in his mouth and he is trying to cut it with his scissors. (Honestly I don't know where he comes up with this stuff!) So I tell him that maybe he shouldn't do that and he says "why?" I mentioned that I would think that would be self-evident but he just moved on to trying to hold the paper with his toes. Yesterday Finn took a empty bubble container and filled it up in the dogs water (which Jamie had already used to wash mud off his hands) and drank it. They are apparently trying to build up their immune systems, yuck! And Aurora seems to finally be interested in toys, so hopefully soon she will be able to entertain herself better :) I can't believe she is already 4 months old and Finn's birthday is next month!! Here is a picture of Jamie next to a Ducati that was very similar to the one Scott had (which he sold to marry me :)) when we first met. I got bored and lonely and painted Aurora's toenails...luckily mom kept me company, so I didn't go too crazy! It's hard to think right now since Finn keeps crying because I won't let him escape and Jamie keeps asking me eight million questions. The other day he said to me "Mom that would be a delight" and his new word is "actually" which would sound really cute coming from a four year old execpt that he uses it to tell me I'm wrong about something, like "Actually mommy blah blah blah." Very annoying :) I missed him a lot last weekend, execpt the peace and quiet without someone chattering all day long was nice! I really missed Scott since we haven't been apart that long for a long time. And today is our 5 year anniversary! They have started hugging each other, which is the cutest thing ever. Aurora has started smiling and cooing at us, and she is just adorable. She doesn't cry as much, but she got so spoiled because I had to hold her and calm her down from her colic that now she crys if I'm not holding her. So I walk around with a baby all day. At least she sleeps all night! It is nice to see her looking around and being interested in things, hopefully soon she'll become interested in toys and I won't have to hold her quite so much. Jamie is talking more and more grown up and it is so funny to hear sentences come out of his little mouth that sound too old for him. When I first get Aurora up in the morning he will come over to her and tell her "Rora, I miss you. My little sweetheart, I miss you so much. I love my baby Rora." It is so cute (except when he says it right in her face and makes her mad!) As you can see running around all day on Mother's Day wore Finn right out! He fell asleep in his highchair at 7pm, it was so cute! He is talking more and more, but so different than Jamie. He says many words, especially that start with a B. Like ball, block, blue (for blues clues), balloon (they all sound very similar), he also says "Da" for daddy, "be" for baby, more and mommy both sound the same, the other day he said shoe (he LOVES shoes and will walk around with one shoe on for the day if that is all he can find, even if it's not his shoe and if I don't help him with it he crys) and dog. The funny thing is that he won't talk if you ask him to, he only says it when he wants to. He mainly labels things, pointing and saying it's name. It is so important to Jamie to be the center of attention that when we asked him to say things, he always did to get the attention, but Finn doesn't care. He just mainly ignores you until you get really annoying and then he shakes his head and says "nnnn" it's funny. Now I have to show him what I am going to feed him and he vetos everything until I come up with something he wants. He used to just eat everything, it was so nice! And Jamie still lives off chocolate milk and frozen go-gurts. I don't know where he gets his energy from!

Easter Pictures

Well, we took the kids to get their Easter Pictures, Jamie's Birthday and pictures of Aurora last Friday. Sometimes it scares me how cute my kids are. Of course, it is purely a survival instinct. Who knows how long they would last if they couldn't bat their ridiciously long eyelashes at me? Aurora was up until 3am again last night, so it must not have been her diaper rash. Or the milk I was drinking, so I will start putting that back in my diet carefully (Yipee!!!) I sure hope I figure it out soon since I tend to be very cranky without my sleep. On the phone today I asked Scott how many kids he expected to come home to today :)

We're still here :)

Well, I'm sure everyone is shocked that I haven't been posting everyday, since I haven't been working and all, but we've been a little busy. Last Thursday at 10:50 or so Aurora was crying (imagine that!) and I thought I heard a noise in the backyard over it, so I asked Scott if he heard something too. He grabbed his "Little Flashlight", which is what he calls this huge flashlight that could flag down an airplane and went to check it out. I was trying to calm the baby down, but thought I should follow in case he needed me and he was coming back down the hall with the strangest look on his face. What had happened was that all the rain had soaked the wood in our patio cover and made it so heavy that the nails holding it onto the house had just pulled out of the wood! It crashed down on our glass table out there and broke it and who knows what else, since we can't really tell yet. Luckily the dog was in his doghouse at the time and is ok. But thank God it happened at night when the kids weren't out there. So we can't get out the sliding door for right now and are in the middle of the homeowners insurance and getting quotes from contractors...just what everyone needs with a month old baby, right??? Plus after her two week check up where she was doing great and I was picturing actually getting some sleep soon she came down with a diaper rash and started crying all the time. I've cut all milk out of my diet (which is really terrible, since I LOVE milk!) and changed diapers and diaper creams and use cotton balls to change her and all that stuff. I think it is finally getting better and she seems to be crying less, but I will have to take her to the dr if it doesn't clear up soon. So I am getting no sleep and nothing done since she wants to be held all the time. Plus the boys have figured out that when they are mad at each other they can hit and/or bite the other one! Yipee for me!!! So there is lots of crying contstantly here :) Last night we had Hamburger Helper (yum :(!) and I was feeding Finn spoonfuls while trying to eat myself and hold Aurora when she started screaming for no apparent reason, so I put the bowl down and tried to calm her down. Finn didn't like that so he tried to get it and I blocked him with my arm. The little monkey bit me! And left teethmarks!!!! (When I showed Scott he couldn't stop laughing) He really likes Hamburger Helper, I guess! So that is what is going on here, hopefully the boys will stop trying to kill each other (yeah, right!) and the babies rash will clear up and I can get some sleep!!!

She's here!

Aurora Anne Schweitzer is here! He keeps telling me he is going to keep her! He has all these plans to share his toys with her and for her to share his bed when she gets older. He is very sweet and gentle with her and would hold her all day if we let him! Finn mostly ignores her, although sometimes he looks at her like she is an interesting pet or something. She is nursing very well, and all I need now is a little sleep!

Tuesday it is!

The dr made an appointment to induce the baby on Tuesday morning at 4:00am, so our little one will soon be here (yikes!). Hopefully she (or he) will arrive between 10 and noon on Tuesday. Then I can have my tummy back!!! Yeah!!! Jamie is happy that his baby will be here, but he is concerned about where she is going to sit :) Finn will I'm sure be very upset by the turn of events since he is developing quite a temper. Here he is showing off his 8 sparkily teeth. He has a very cute smile when he decides to use it! Jamie is very good with him and makes a wonderful brother, so I'm sure he will be great with the baby, but Finn doesn't like it when Jamie gets in his face and will hit him or push him, so I'm not sure how he will do with the baby, especially since he is really too young to understand what is going on. I was very worried about how Jamie would cope when Finn was born, but he did really well, but I think Finn will be a bit more of a problem if I'm holding the baby and he wants to be in my lap, since he doesn't like to share my lap with Jamie. I can't wait until I have 3 of them fighting for it! :) I am getting very excited to meet this little person, who already seems more mellow than either of the boys. No hard rib kicks and much less painful movements than either of the boys. And everytime the dr listens to the heart she says "What a happy baby." So I'm hoping that this baby is happy and sleeps well! (I can dream, right?) I'm trying to get ready, with all that I can do waddling around! I'm going to try to clean up the boys room today, so that everything is more organized. But I have a sore throat, so hopefully I don't end up with a cold! That would not be a good thing! But we would all appreciate your prayers as we welcome our new little one into the world next week :)

Still Waiting...

We are still waiting for our little arrival. I have a dr's appt tomorrow, so I will ask her how much longer until she will induce me. I was induced with both of the boys, so I figure it's time to get the show on the road :) These pictures are from yesterday, Jamie was "washing" his car and wanted me to take a picture of him, so I figured Scott could take a picture of "the belly". But he was making me laugh with what he was saying hence the look on my face. (Better than the picture of me with a soda can on my tummy from when I was pregant with Finn!) Anyway, we will let everyone know if the Dr decides to schedule a date tomorrow, so everyone can be praying for a short painless labor (which sounds like any oxymoron...) but I'm pretty over being pregant right now :)

Labor????

Well, I thought last night was it! Scott and I had just went to bed and all of a sudden I realized that I had 3 contractions that were kind of painful in a small amount of time. So I got up and got my phone so that I could see how far apart they were...well they were 5 mintues apart. Since I was induced with both boys, I wasn't really sure when to go to the hosptial, execpt that the contractions should be 5 minutes apart for an hour. But these started out 5 minutes apart. I was rather confused and worried, since I don't have everything ready yet. The baby's bag for the hospital is packed and I have most of the stuff I need, but it's not all where it should be! So I woke up Scott (who fell asleep mintues after his head hit the pillow!) I told him what was going on and we decided I would call the hosptial and ask them what they thought and call my mom in case she needed to come over so the boys wouldn't wake up with no one here but Scott's Nana, who can't lift Finn out of his crib. Well, the nurse said that they should be lasting about 45-60 each and mine were 25-35 so she advised waiting a bit (unless I was uncomfortable with that). So I laid there timing them for a while, then I called mom and told her to try to go to sleep and I would do the same. So we turned off the light and I laid there for another hour or so and they weren't getting any worse, and finally I was able to go to sleep about 1. When I woke up with Scott's alarm at 5:15 I didn't have any more contractions, so he went to work and I went back to sleep. Then I got up to go to my dr appointment. My blood pressure was a little high, so I hope that doesn't become an issue again, but other than that she said everything was great. I am 2 centimeters dialated and she said the babies heartbeat was happy :) She also said that I should wait until the contractions are about a level 7 pain, where I can't talk through, 5 mintues apart for an hour and a half. So now I know to wait until they really hurt :), yipee! So I would appreciate everyones prayers :) I am (hopefully) get my hair cut tomorrow, and get everything ready for the baby this weekend so that I feel a bit more ready. Finn was sitting on the couch looking cute today and Jamie was on my lap (what is left of it!) and I asked Jamie what we were going to do with Finn and he said "Throw him away." and started laughing. So I said "you're silly, we can't throw him away, we love him!" and he said "sell him?"! So I said "I'm going to sell you you little monkey!" then he said we should "recycle" Finn! I don't know where he comes up with this stuff! He is so good with Finn normally and I was really worried about how he would react when Finn was born for no reason, since he is really caring (much more that Finn would like with all the hugs and kisses!) so I'm not worried about Jamie and the baby, but I think Finn is going to not be happy, since he has developed quite a temper. He gets mad and hits things or people and gets very cranky when he doesn't get his way. So I'm thinking he will be trying to hit the baby a lot. Jamie is very excited to meet the baby, but I have to be careful how I say things, since I asked him if he was excited that the baby would be here soon and he gave me this look like he could not believe I said that and said in a very condesending tone "mommy the baby has already been here" and pointed to my tummy! That kid! So I said "sorry, are you excited that the baby will come out soon?" and he said "yes" in that of course kind of voice. He does keep me on my toes! I put up two pictures of them, since a big picture of my belly might not be too cute! Scott's mom took Jamie to see the rose parade float at Eastland, and this is him sniffing the flowers that he got, and this is Finn on Christmas. I can't believe it, but he doesn't use his pacifier anymore! I was really dreading taking it away from him since he really loved it and I knew I should have when he was younger so that it wouldn't be hard, but I kept picturing sleepless nights and A LOT of crying so I've been too chicken about it. But I was trying to at least keep it more to a bedtime thing, so when he would wake up in the morning without it, I would find it, but wait until close to naptime when he was getting cranky to give it to him. I did that for about a week, when Jamie had a really bad night and I noticed that Finn was sleeping without it, so I just didn't give it to him the next day. I told Scott's mom that he hadn't had it since the night before and she didn't give it to him for his nap either, and then at bedtime I thought I would just try it and if he freaked out I would give it to him, but he didn't! So all of a sudden almost on accident he doesn't need his pacifier anymore :) He was a bit crankier than usual for a couple of days, but he's been without it for a couple of weeks now. I just hope that it will be long enough that he won't try to take the baby's pacifier out of her mouth :) But I can't believe how lucky I was, I was really dreading it and it's all over and it wasn't a big deal at all! I thought I was lucky with Jamie, since as soon as he figured out how to get his hands into his mouth, he didn't want it anymore and that was when he was 2 months old. I know he would have been awful if he had kept it, since he is very opioinated. His favorite thing is to tell Finn how bad he is being and to tell him "No, Finn, that's bad!". I keep telling him he is not Finn's mommy or daddy, so he can't punish him, but that doesn't alway work that well since it is very fun to tell your brother how bad he is being!

Link to pictures

Here is a link to the photobucket pictures http://s291.photobucket.com/albums/ll291/missa_scott/Christmas/

We're still here!

I know it's been almost a month since my last posting, and I missed Christmas and my birthday! I have just been so tired and busy! (I'm sure you can't imagine why) So I am off work now, so I will try to post more regularly, especially once the baby comes, since she(or he) will be changing so fast. Here are two pictures from my birthday, one is from our new Bob's Big Boy where we went to breakfast and the other is of Scott and Jamie on Autotopia at Disneyland. Don't I look comfortable??? :) I told Scott he should take a picture of my belly since it will be gone soon (thank goodness!) I am getting to the "I don't care how much it hurts, just get this baby out of me!" I have her bag all packed (with a couple of boy things, just in case!) and the car seat is soon to have a new cute cover to go over it and I have a lot of things ready to wash as soon as we here whether they were right about if it is a girl or not. I will put up on photobucket a bunch of pictures of Christmas and stuff, so I'll post that as soon as it is done.

Good news!

I went to the dr yesterday and she said the ultrasound was fine and the placenta moved to where it should be. So it seems everything is back to normal now. I thought it would be fun to put up a picture of each of the boys from last Christmas. It is amazing how much Finn has grown and changed! He wasn't even crawling last Christmas and now he is running and climbing and saying a few words! Jamie of course is just more of the same :) just bigger! Right now he wants me to get off the computer so he can play a game! I can't believe it's almost Christmas! I didn't see, but Jennie and Scott watched the technician typing on the screen that it was low lying still, so I guess it didn't clear itself up like the dr hoped. I'll find out more at my next appointment. It doesn't appear to be covering anything, but just lower than it should be. Which might mean I have to have a c-section. So we would appreciate your prayers for both of our health. We also are almost certain now that we are having a girl! Which works out well, since mom just brought us a bunch of girl clothes that a co-workers daughter grew out of, so that was a blessing since I am fully prepared clothes wise for a boy, but have nothing for a girl, so this was very wonderful. I am excited to get to know this new little person, since I'm sure she will be quite different from her brothers, who are also very different from each other, so we will have a very diverse household! At least we won't be bored! (Although I'm pretty sure that Jamie can accomplish this all by himself!) Yesterday he was looking for Scott's mom, calling "Oma, Oma, where are you? Oma, this not good time to play hide and seek"! He is so funny, I don't know where he hears these things from. Then tonight we were going to moms and Scott was driving and Jamie started making this annoying noise, so Scott said "Jamie" and he said "sorry daddy, me not see you there."! Like where could he have gone?! He is sooo silly sometimes we just have to laugh, even though we shouldn't! Last night was the first night this week that he hasn't come in to cuddle or something in the middle of the night, and I think it is just becuase he didn't wake up, not becuase he knew that he should stay in his bed! Oh well :)

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://missascott.blogspot.com/2008/12/its-girl-pretty-sure-this-time.html' title='It's a girl!!!! We had a lot of fun, and Amy gave Jamie this cowboy hat, which kept him saying "Howdy partner", which sounds more like "Howdy pardner". So cute! Then Finn tried it on, and that was super cute, too! Jamie then went ahead and threw up on Dad's new hardwood floors. Luckily he wasn't the first to do so, so that made me feel a bit better! Then we went back home, where Scott's family was there for our second dinner, good thing we like turkey! Where Finn went ahead and threw up on our living room carpet! They sure aren't boring :) We had a very wonderful Thanksgiving and we have much to be thankful for.

Sleeping and other stuff

Well, Jamie has decided that he doesn't want to sleep in his room anymore. Around 2:30 in the morning about a week ago he came in and wanted to sleep with us. I didn't do anything becuase I was so tired and this happened once before and he went back to his room after 1/2 an hour. So in the morning I asked him why he came to bed with us. He said "there were no people in my room and I got nervous."! I said "What about Finn?" Meaning he was a person, he said "Finn was nervous too." Of course this didn't stop him from abandoning Finn to sleep alone for the rest of the night! (And I'm assuming by Finn being nervous, that meant he was sleeping like a log when Jamie woke up since he wasn't crying) So I tried to explain, how there shouldn't be any people in his room at night except Finn. Then he told me he was bored. He is so funny, I'm really worried about when he realizes the full potential of his powers! So I told him he should be bored at 2:30 in the morning, since all he should be doing is sleeping. So now when I put him to bed he tells me he can't sleep becuase there are no "big people" in his room. (At least he realized Finn was a person!) So again I try to explain to him how that is how it should be, blah blah blah! When he comes to bed with us I take him back to his room and give him a cuddle. A couple of night ago he came in at 12:00 and told me he was "lone". So I said he could cuddle for a minute, then he had to go back to bed. He argued, but I put him back. Then at 2:30 he started screaming his head off for me until finally I went in there and he was soaking wet. So I changed him, covered him up and went back to bed. Then an hour later he came in becuase he wanted to cuddle! So I gave him a hug and put him back to bed. In the morning when I told Scott this (since he has the gift to sleep through all of this!) he said "well, at least he had a different reason for each time!) Then that morning Jamie comes into bed with me at 6:30. I wish everyone had as much energy as he does! He just charges right in with all of his morning demands regardless of what time it is! The picture of Jamie is from when we took him to see the movie Bolt a week ago at a sneak preview. He looked so cute while we were saving seats for Scott and his mom when they went to get drinks, that I had to take a picture of him. And the picture of Finn is him doing one of his favorite things and stealing a bottle and drinking it. He throws himself on the ground and rolls into position and drinks hoping Jamie won't figure out what he is doing! It is so cute. I stopped giving him bottles and give him sippy cups now, but I still think he thinks they are all Jamies!

Haircuts

Well, I bit the bullet yesterday and gave Finn a real haircut. Near his birthday I trimed it so that it wasn't in his eyes and the back of his neck, but it was getting really long again and I didn't think he would sit still for a whole head haircut with scissors! So I buzzed him with the 1 inch guard on. I was worried that it would stick up all over like it used to since it's so fine, but it actually lays down still. He looks older now that it's shaped to his head. And I figured might as well cut Jamies hair while I was at it. He is fine as long as I put one of Scott's shirts on him since he doesn't like it if hair falls on him. So now they both look handsome in time for Thanksgiving. Which we will be spending at Dad's newly remodeled house, which should be super fun! It is so funny the difference in them! Jamie still wakes me up in the middle of the night (by wetting his bed, or just wanted to cuddle!) a couple nights a week, while unless something is seriously wrong with Finn he usually goes to bed at 7 or 7:30 and gets up at 8:30 or 9! I hope the new baby sleeps as good as Finn or I will be very overtired!

Halloween

Well, we dressed up the kids (and me!) and went to our church's trunk or treat. They fill the parking lot with cars and everyone decorates their trunk and passes out candy from them. It's a lot of fun, since you don't have to walk that far and you get to see everyone from church all dressed up. It gets really crowded though, since it is so easy and it feels much safer than going to a bunch of houses you don't know. Jamie as you can see was Peter Pan and Finn was a lion. They were both soooo cute! Scott had the really great idea to pin glow sticks to them and it sure helped out. We could see Jamie even if he was in a crowd of kids in line for candy. Jamie had a great time and got a ton of candy! He was getting two pieces a day, but there was an incident today and now he will not be getting candy for a week. Apparently while I was at work today and Jamie and Finn were watching tv in their room before Finn's nap Jamie went ahead and got a stool and took 8 or 9 cupcakes off the back of the stove from a plate, took them in his room and put them in Finn's crib. He and Finn then proceeded to lick all the frosting and sprinkles off of them. That's how Scott's mom found them. Needless to say everyone had a good bath tonight and there was a lot of sheet washing. They both smelled like cupcakes and their hair was all gooey. What am I going to do with him? :)

Pre-Halloween

Well, we carved pumkins last night. I figured since Jamie is getting older and can remember more things we have to make sure that we do all the normal holiday stuff so that he can have nice memories of things. So he got to stick his hand inside the pumkins and get all gooey! I did two pumkins with his "help" and Scott as the camera-man. Everytime I would start doing something in one of the pumkins, Jamie would want to do that, so I would move to the other pumkin, and guess what Jamie wanted to do now? :) So we made a happy pumkin and a silly pumkin. I was pretty tired since we had to wait until Finn was in bed, since he gets so mad at us when he can't do what he wants, and who knows what that would be around gooey pumpkins and knifes? But the pumpkins are done! The other pictures are of a pumpkin party at Forest Lawn in San Dimas. Scott and his mom took the kids on Tuesday afternoon while I was at work. Jamie dressed up as a pirate like last year, since his Peter Pan costume is made of a thin velvet that we thought might get messed up easily, and Finn wore his lion costume from this year. When we tried it on him at Toy R Us we were all laughing so hard, we knew it was the one! He is sooo cute in it! So we are all ready for tonight. We are taking the kids to our churches "Trunk or Treat" where everyone lines up their cars in the parking lot and decorates them and fills them with candy. So you don't have to take your kids to a bunch of houses of people you don't know, you can just walk them through the parking lot. It's a lot of fun and there are a lot of people there, which is a nice outreach for the church, since the people around know it's a safe place to take their kids. Unfortunatly Jamie doesn't forget things like that he will get a big bag of candy tonight, like he did last year! The other day he told Scott's mom that he needed something to eat, since he is a growing boy. She asked him what he wanted and he said "candy"! He is so funny! I am very worried about when he gets older and realizes the full potential of his "talets"!

It's a....girl?

Well, we had an ultrasound last Saturday down in Costa Mesa.

Scott, his mom, Jamie, Finn, my mom and my dad (and me of course!) all met in the parking lot of the ultrasound place at noon on Saturday to see if maybe the baby felt like sharing whether we would be blessed with another boy or a girl. Here are two pictures of the ultrasound, the top is a picture of one of the baby's feet and the bottom is a profile and part of an arm. It seemed pretty likely that we will be having a girl, since we didn't see any boy parts, if you know what I mean! So that will be nice. Jamie has wanted a girl all along, and now whenever he sees a commercial for a girl toy he says that we need to get it for the baby, even if it is a hot wheels barbie jeep that she won't need for another 3 or 4 years. But I'm sure she won't mind if Jamie drives it for her! It was a very neat experience, the baby had the hiccups and you could see her opening and closing her mouth and her heart beating. I really enjoyed it, since we were really able to just watch what she was doing. So we are pretty confident we are having a girl, but I'm not going to believe it all the way until the dr says "Its a..."! :) You never know, they could be wrong! But it seems that the baby is doing well and we can't wait to meet him or her.

Muddy Boy

Well, the other morning Jamie wanted to go outside really early, like around 8 (and I'm not saying 8 is early to be up, just for him to go outside!) So after a while he was being really quiet, which we all know means trouble. So I got up and peeked out the window to see him under our grapefruit and orange tree playing in the mud. I thought, oh great, what is he doing, and all of a sudden he starts rubbing it up his arm to the elbow! My first reaction was to run out the door and stop him, but then I remembered the pictures of Jennie and I doing the same thing under our big tree in our backyard and I thought, he's not really hurting anything. So I let him play, just keeping an eye on him. He got it up both arms and started finger painting on the wall. I'm sure he knew he shouldn't be doing it, but he looked like he was having fun. After about 20 minutes he realized he was really cold and wet and came up to the door. So I hosed him down to get the worst off and hauled him off to the bathtub. But before that I took some pictures! I also snapped this cute picture of Finn on the fireplace looking at all he could play with since his brother wasn't there to stop him!

Baby

Just a note that the doctor got my ultrasound back and said that I will have to have another one at 30 weeks since my placenta is "low-lying". Which if it doesn't correct itself by then could present a problem. It could mean a c-section and even bedrest if it is serious enough. So the baby and I would appreciate your prayers. Most of the time it moves and isn't a problem, so hopefully the next ultrasound will show it to be in the proper place.

Club 33

Inside Disneyland by Pirates of the Caribbean is a restaurant called Club 33. Only people with reservations can get inside and only members can make reservations. It is a private club that Walt Disney created to impress important people visiting Disneyland. We have heard about it for years and always wondered where it was exactly and what it was like inside. In July Scott's dad came to visit and mentioned that he met someone who was a member. So I emailed him a couple of months ago and asked him if he could get us reservations for Scott's birthday, since he has wanted to eat there forever. It took him almost 2 months, but he did it! I have never had a surprise for Scott work out so well before, they usually end up falling down around my ears, so I told him before the day :) We were both very excited and a little nervous that it would all work out. So on October 4th at 9:00pm we went to Club 33 and had a fabulous dinner and a wonderful time. We both had the filet of Chateaubriand and a delicous salad with apples and panchetta with a delicous creamy vinaigrette. We had such a wonderful time there, it was so neat with all the woodwork and special touches. We were able to go out on the balcony overlooking New Orleans square and we could see the fireworks from our table. It was super fun! (It's also nice to still be able to enjoy time with your spouse without the kids!) And my mom had the boys over to spend the night, so we didn't have to worry about them at all, it was great!

Scotts Birthday

Scott's birthday was on the 2nd and we took him to Disneyland for the day. We had a lot of fun and stayed longer than we thought we would. The boys were both (mostly) good and we were there from 10am to 7pm! I was sure tired :) The funny thing Jamie was doing was he would want to go on a ride, and as soon as we were standing in line he would start saying "me not like this ride, me not like this ride. Me want to go home." Then we would have to convince him that he would like this ride through the whole line, and then he would like the ride. It was getting a little crazy though! Finn did very well considering he spent most of the day in the stroller with only a little nap. We had fun, even though Scott couldn't go on his favorite rides unless he wanted to go alone since they are hesitant to let really pregnant ladies on Space Mountain and Screamin over California!

Ultrasound Pictures

Well, here are the ultrasound pictures we got yesterday. Unfortunatly the baby was being shy and they weren't quite able to tell whether it will be a boy or a girl. We might go get another one in Costa Mesa and see if they can tell. We took Jamie with us to see pictures of the baby. I told him we had to go to the doctor. He said that they take pictures at the baby store, not the doctor. (He gets his picture taken at Babies R Us) Then when we were there he kept telling me he didn't see the baby. When she let us listen to the babies heartbeat he said "The babies heart is too loud"! Then last night we had mom watch the boys and we invited Ben and Jennie to go to the movies with us. We all went to see Fireproof which is a movie made by a church in Georgia who feels it is their ministry to make good Christian movies. It was a really good movie, we had a great time, even though on the way there we got stuck at a sobriety checkpoint! But poor mom, we got back after 10 and both boys were still awake! Finn doesn't sleep unless he is in his own bed and Jamie could stay up all night long if we let him. They didn't even fall asleep in the truck on the way home. But luckily they both went to sleep once we got home and slept all night. Finn is talking in his crib right now, so I'll have to go and get him up.

Jamieisms

Jamie says the craziest things lately. One of them has different parts, but 1 central theme. (I'm pretty sure he's been talking to his Granddude about it.) If we tell him to put a toy down or something he says he's worried that the Easter Bunny will take it! He wanted us to hang an airplane from the ceiling so the Easter Bunny can't get it. I'm really not sure where he got the idea that the Easter Bunny sneaks into our house and takes stuff at night, but he is quite convinced! Yesterday Finn was trying to take some books out of one of those cardboard cases that they come in and Jamie was trying to stop him. They were Jamies books, and I told him he could let Finn play with one, since there were four of them. Jamie said, "Finn can't play with them because he can't read."! Now I suppose this might be a good reason...if Jamie could read! I said "You can't read either". He said "yes I can"! He comes up with this stuff at 3 I'm really getting worried about what his excuses will be when he is 5 or even 10!

"Camping"

We went "camping" last weekend because Scott's mom had bought all this camping stuff and decided we had better go camping or else why did she buy all this stuff? (Notice I said "camping") Now the camping I am used to is everyone piling in our red Ford Van and driving the 15 hours it takes to get to Yosemite...it doesn't take 15 hours to get to Yosemite? Really...hmmm...must have been all the train pictures. Well, I digress. Once we got to Yosemite we set up a small tent and put our sleeping bags on the floor and had food in the cooler and set up a small camp stove. We would walk to the showers every day and by the time we had walked back we were dirty again becuase they were really far away. We would brush our teeth in a bucket of water and spit it out on the ground. And if you had to go to the bathroom after dark, well you hope you brought enough bug spray! We had a lot of fun, but it was, at least to us "roughing it". So when I say "camping" I mean we slept in a tent, but that is about the only resemblance to what I had done with my parents when I was little. We got this huge tent and 2 queen size air mattresses. We even had sheets and pillows, no sleeping bags, execpt for Jamie who got a new cars sleeping bag to match his cars camping chair, so cute! Finn slept in a pack-in-play in a seperate area of the tent via a curtain. Which helped so much because he couldn't see us, so he actually slept! We were worried that it would be awful with Finn since he might be miserable gated in and he might keep us up all night, but he really did great! Jamie had a wonderful time especially riding his bike. We also went out to eat for every meal (which I sure didn't mind since I would have had to cook!) and went down to Balboa Island after dinner and went for a walk. Jamie had a great time riding his bike and managed not to hit anyone, which I thought was a small miracle. What was the best was the campfire when we got back from dinner. I put Finn to bed and he barely cried, Scott started up the fire with only wood and some napkins! I was very impressed. (It also almost completly burned up all the wood) And we made Jiffy pop and roasted marshmallows and explained to Jamie why he shouldn't lean forward in his chair. He looked so cute sitting in his own chair like a big boy! Then he had a graham cracker stuck to his shorts and a marshmallow stuck to his shirt! So I had to change him into new clothes, he is so funny! We slept ok, but not great since we were in a new place, but the boys both slept all night. Then we woke up early since it was light and decided to go to breakfast at 7 since Jamie was having a hard time understanding why he shouldn't be shouting at us (even though it was early and other people were sleeping, oh and the fact that he was less than 3 feet from us!) He really doesn't get the whole "shhhh" thing! So all in all we had a good time and actually got some sleep!

Growing Up

It was cold on Friday morning, and I was looking for clothes to bring for the boys since we were going camping on Saturday. I found a cowboy shirt and overalls that were Jamies and were about Finn's size right now. Boy he looks bigger in "real" clothes. He is almost always in a one piece jumper and he looked so cute in his big boy clothes that I had to get out the camera. Of course Jamie couldn't let an oppurtunity to steal Finn's attention, so he started hamming it up! Finn wasn't too happy about that as you can see. Jamie is holding 2 cups because he needs his "milkjuice" which he pronounces as one word and means a bottle of milk and a bottle of juice. It sounds pretty gross, though since you picture milk and juice in one cup together! I just can't believe how big they are getting. And on Friday the 26th we are going to get our 20 week ultrasound where hopefully they can tell us whether it is a boy or a girl! We can only take 1 person, so we decided to take Jamie, I think he will like to see the baby since he is always interested in what it is doing and talking to it. (Which translates to yelling into my belly button, which I guess he thinks is some kind of microphone!)

Disneyland in July

In July we went to Disneyland and they have an Indiana Jones story thing where the Aladin story place is usually. So we decided to go, especially since Jamie loves "Indy Jones". Well, we stood in line, then we filed in and choose some seats in the shade. Then all of a sudden Jamie realizes that kids are sitting on the carpet up front and he asks to go down there. So Scott takes him down and seats him right up front. He sat there and listened to the man from Disneyland tell the kids what they need to do tohelp out this lady and Indiana Jones. We were kind of surprised at how well he was sitting and listening...until the lady came out! All of a sudden, whenever the lady came close to him, he stood up staring at her and if she walked away he

would follow her until one the Disneyland people asked him to sit down! It was sooo funny (in fact it was mostly the only entertaining thing about the show :)). Then when "Indiana Jones" came out he did the same thing. It was so cute. The poor Disneyland people. He was the only kid following them around and staring at them. So up top is some cute pictures of us and the kids, I love how Finn looks at Daddy, he even says "Dada" when he sees Scott for the first time in a while, and sometimes kind of hops up and down! He sure loves his Daddy. And a picture of me and Jamie.

Down here is a picture of Jamie before the show started, then a picture of the Disneyland lady chasing him to get him to sit down and then him seeing "Indiana Jones"! Is he funny or what???

Sea World

We went to Sea World in the middle of August. We had a fun time, except for Finn who was sick and teething. Poor baby, he was not a happy camper. We stayed at a hotel called The Dana on Mission Bay and all the funiture in the room was too tall for him to climb up, like he had just learned to do at home on the couches and chairs, so he was very cranky about that as well! Plus he is a boy who loves his normal routine and so when we screw it up by taking him somewhere and he doesn't get to sleep in his own bed, he doesn't function very well. Unlike Jamie, who could miss naps and go to bed whenever and he's fine! Which is funny because he doesn't like to have to take naps or go to bed at home :) Amazing how differently God made them! Makes me excited to see what the next one will be like! Jamies out with Daddy right now and Finn is taking his beloved nap, so I took the oppurtunity to do some laundry and clean the kitchen. Then I thought I would post and put up the slideshow since I'm not too tired yet today!

I'm back!!!!!

Well, I just got over a headache that I had for 5 days straight so I'm feeling pretty good and I had a minute, so I thought "I know, I'll actually post a blog entry!!!" I tried a week ago or so, but the one day I had the time and energy and no one yelling or whining or crying at me and the internet went down!!! AHHH!!!!! :) So here I am! And here is a picture of Jamie from about 1/2 hour ago. I just cut his hair tonight since it was getting sooo long. Here is a picture of Finn from a couple days ago. He's running around and climbing everything. It is crazy to see him climb up on the couch and turn around and sit down! So cute, especially if he is next to Jamie. They are both getting so big. It is so fun (most of the time!) to have a conversation with Jamie and he actually understands what I'm saying and I can mostly understand what he is saying! He new annoying habit is after I say something he says "huh?" Drives me nuts! I even asked the dr if he had an ear infection, but she said they are fine! Finn makes noises and says mama dada, he can even mimic what you are saying if he's in the mood! Jamies potty training is going very slowly. He just has no motivation, even when we tell him what he can get or give him candy or stickers. I'm not sure what to try, especially since I'm not home during the day. I'll try to put up all the pictures that I have missed posting the last month or so, especially Finn's birthday and our trip to San Diego, where we had a really fun time. I'll post the rest soon!!

Disneyland

On Thursday I had a luncheon at work, so I got off at 1:15 and Scott usually gets off at 2:30 unless he has to work overtime, so we headed off to Disneyland when he came home. They have a new toy story ride that we wanted to check out and luckily the wait was only 45 minutes :) We had fun on the ride, it is a fair style ride where the car takes you to various screens where you shoot at toy story theamed games with a virtual shooter that is 3-D. I got 107,100 points! Scott got over 119,000 and Jamie got 10,000. Finn didn't get anything becuase he had to sit inbetween Scott's mom and I, but he was very good and seemed to enjoy the sights even though he wouldn't wear the 3-D glasses! After that we walked around and ate some food and headed over to Disneyland. We went on Pirates and then watched Fantasmic. It was weirder than I remembered. Jamie enjoyed it. Then we went to the tram but it seemed like it would take forever so we decided to walk back to the parking structure. I blame it on momentary insanity! We were so tired and my feet hurt so bad! But we made it back. All in all it was a fun day!! Here is a cute picture of Jamie intently studying the map and a very cute one of Daddy and Finn wearing there 3-D glasses :)

Ha Ha! They are some big teeth! Very cute :) Now he is working on one on the bottom. Jamie didn't want to be left out, so he told me he had 9 teeth. He counted them himself! (He actually has

16) Jamie also wanted me to type his tongues name, whatever that means! He also said Cats eat those and those and those and those. He is very silly! Like birds eat worms. Birds wear shoes and walk home. Birds walk like and eat worms all over the place. He also wanted me to say Blue and Steve from his Blues Clues show.

Jennies wedding

My little sister got married yesterday! It was quite a day, especially trying to keep a 3 year old and a 1 year old entertained and be matron of honor! But they both did very well (and I think I did as well :)) And Jennie married Ben and gave up the hard to spell name Styffe for the much easier Davis. I still remember when my uncle Glenn asked me if I would hyphenate my name, I replied and be Melissa Styffe-Schweitzer, I don't think so! But I love my new name, I've had it for 4 years now! I better get a move on, since I posted 6 entrys in May and April and only have 4 now for June, and the month is almost gone. Working full time really cuts into my blogging! Jamie was the ring bearer (Finn was supposed to be too, but he decided the kitchen at the church was more interesting than a room full of people) and did very well. Since mommy had the idea to give Uncle Ben a superman sucker and tell Jamie to give Ben the pillow and he will give Jamie the sucker! It worked :) Jamie was told that if he was good for the wedding he would get a blast off car. Which is something he saw on tv that he has wanted for a long time. It is about 30 inches long and you put water in a tank and pump it full of air to create pressure, then you hit a lever to release the car and it "blast's off" getting everying wet. Jamie loves it! The funny thing is that after the rehersal dinner he said "ok, Jennies wedding over, me good, lets go get blast off car!" Then yesterday morning he said "mommy me no want you to get married" all sad. I said "Honey, mommy's not getting married, I'm already married to Daddy, aunt Jennie is getting married!" We went to Ben's house today to watch the newlyweds open presents and Ben's brother Patrick let Jamie see his legos, so Jamie found his new best friend, at one point I went in to check on him and they were shooting a giant nerf gun with suction cup darts at the mirrored closet! Jamie was having the best time! He now wants to show Patrick his blast off car. Jamie told Jennie, "Jennie, you not know about blast off car."! He is so funny!

Finn punishes Jamie

Well, Finn decided he had had enough! Jamie was laying on the ground the other day and Finn comes right up and spanks him! It was so funny, I ran for the camera and told Jamie to lay down again. He thought it was funny and Finn was all for it. They play so good sometimes it is fun to watch...and then other times Jamie knocks him down or kicks him I just don't know how to get across that he is hurting Finn. And if Finn is playing with a toy then suddenly it is the ONLY toy Jamie could possibly play with! We are trying to get Jamie to give Finn a different toy when he takes the one Finn has, but I'm sure that won't work for long. Soon Finn is going to realize, hey I was playing with that! Good thing he is so easy going. Well, except for when you have food! He gets so angry, you wouldn't even know he is the same child! Jamie wanted to tell a funny story too, so I told him I would type it, so here goes: (he is now doing his funny face where he rolls his eyes in the back of his head and flicks his tongue out and waves his fingers...) Birds like to flap their wings. That's what birds do. Birds like to eat worms. Worms like to eat tape. They like to eat diamonds. They have shoes.

Potty Training

Well, I am trying to gently potty train Jamie. He knows how, he just could care less! I made a chart with stickers and he does that every once and a while. We were watching superman and he asked why superman had on underwear and I said because he is a big boy and goes potty in the toilet :) (I saw it as an opportunity!) So we got him some new underwear and on Friday I put it on him in the morning and told him he had to tell us before he went potty. Then I left for work :) When I got home he was in a diaper. Apparently he had used all 5 of the new pairs of underwear and peed on the carpet twice! Then as we are talking about it he wanted to go potty, so I am standing in the door of the bathroom waiting for him and I glance in the bathtub....that looks a lot like poop! I know he didn't do that when I gave him a bath, so I said "Jamie is that poopy in the bathtub?"He said "yeah". Scott's mom asked him "did you go poop in the bathtub?" and he said "yeah". So I asked "today?!" He said "yeah, me go poopy in the bathtub."! They are sure never boring! And Finn is getting his top two front teeth and is very cranky, they have been under the gums ready to pop out for days now poor thing. He is getting increasing mad whenever we are eating, he stands there crying and looking at us until we give him some or he steals it off our plate!

Sea World

We went to Sea World when we were on our vacation, but right when we got back we all got sick, so I've been meaning to post the pictures in a slide show, but haven't had the time, since I went straight into planning Jennie's bridal shower (which went very well :)!) So here are a couple of pictures, and when I get a chance I'll put up the slide show. The boys had very much fun and Jamie still talks about "my friend the killer whale." It was funny the first thing we did was go to the Shamu show, which started 30 minutes from when we sat down and the whold time Jamie said "me not like this show, me not like this show." So we kept telling him to just wait until it started, he would like it. Scott was explaining how the whale would swim in the pool, jump out of the water, wave and say "hiyo Mamie!" Jamie would laugh and say "me not like this show."! Finally it started and he had a blast! He talked about it all day! They have built a new Sesame Street area and even Finn could play in it! They both had a lot of fun and can't wait to go back. Here is a picture we took with Cookie Monster and another of the place where babies and toddlers could play, it was so cool because normally when we go to Disneyland or something Finn is in the stroller the whole day and doesn't have any fun, but here he could get out and play and get tired! And Jamie was just a maniac, stealing the foam things from other kids, knocking people over and stuff! His patented sideways bump where he couldn't possibly have done it on purpose :)

Vacation

Well, we're on vacation! We went to Balboa Island today with the boat that we got this weekend and fixed up. It's little, but we putted around the bay for about an hour and then let the boys play in the sand. Finn enjoyed eating sand, yuck! Then we walked downtown and bought Jamie 2 hippo cookies (a little shop that has ice cream and doughnuts bakes these large hippo shaped cookies with colored glaze and 2 m & m's for eyes that are really good) Jamie decided he needed 2, so when the girl asked what we wanted he went ahead and ordered "2 hippo tooties 1 blue one and 1 pink one."! Good thing they only had 2 colors! Then we walked around a bit and drove home. It was fun, but I'm tired :). We might go to Sea World tomorrow, Jamie said I need to call his family and invite them. I'm not sure who he means, and he also wants me to call Sophie and Ben.

Scott and I went to see the new Indiana Jones movie on Saturday night and Mom, Jennie and Ben watched the boys. Harrison Ford seems old! It was ok, but I'm not as into the Indiana Jones movies as Scott is. It was nice to get out and do stuff by ourselves, though :)

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Happy Birthday!!!!!
Today is my dad's birthday, or as Jamie likes to call him Granddude! We went to the park by his house yesterday and had fun playing with everyone. Jamie loves to tell Emmie and John "you play with me". Which is my childs lovely and polite way of asking if they want to play! One of the Sunday school teachers called him "a natural born leader" :) I would post pictures of the event, but of course I forgot to bring our camera! (So anyone who wants to email me cute pictures? I could then edit my post and put them up!) Dad, I hope you had fun and are still enjoying the pies! Here is a cute picture of Granddude and Finn from Christmas! As I'm sure he is! This is a picture of Jamie and Scott's cousins son Ben from Mother's Day. He just looks invinsable! Which he mostly is. I am still amazed we haven't had to take him to the Emergency Room yet! Praise God! They are still cranky because of being sick. Plus Finn is very intolerent of the heat, so he isn't liking the heatwave. I'm not sure what he will do in the summer, because he just can't stand being hot.

And here is a super cute shot Scott got of Finn the same day. He is getting so good at walking, I'll have to take another video, because he can make it a good 10 feet, and even change direction and stop, pick something up and keep going. It's hard to get Jamie to take his medicine since the first time was so bad, but if Finn even sees a medincine dropper he gets excited and opens his mouth! They are both just so cute! I don't know what I did to be blessed with such cuties, but I love the little munchins. However, I could do without the whinning! Especially since I'm sure I never whinned! And I know I was never this bossy! Jamie will tell me "mom, you gotta throw this away, mom you gotta do this..." Or this morning he told me I better do something! That went over well!

Doctor

Well, I took the boys to the dr today. They both have double ear infections, yipee! Poor babies. No wonder Finn walks around the room crying and Jamie is so clingy that I can't seem to even eat dinner without him trying to worm his way into my lap. They had ear infections before and were given the familiar pink amoxicillen (?) liquid that Jennie and I fondly remember from our childhood and that worked fine. Well their regular doctor is on vacation and the temporary doctor gave them a "broader spectrum" anitbiotic that is think and white. I filled the dropper and Jamie said "me do it" which is pretty standard 3 year old, so I handed it to him and told him to squeeze it in his mouth. So he does and promptly throws up. Great... so I figured he just poked himself in the back of the throat so I gave Finn his and he was fine. So I decided to try again with Jamie and told him to be more careful with the dropper. So he does and swallows it and kind of gags a bit but keeps it down. Then he walks a couple steps and just throws up all over the carpet and completely empties his poor little tummy. (Boysenberries, yummy) So I am really hoping he is fine when I try again tomorrow morning, otherwise I'll have to call the dr and get another prescription blah, blah blah!

On another note Finn is doing really well walking. Some of the other people at the dr asked how old he was since their 10 month old isn't crawling at all yet. He didn't seem very interested in anything either, but hopefully he was just sick. The other day Finn was walking, bent down to pick something up and kept on going! Very cool! Poor thing, he has been miserable since he can't breathe out of his nose and that makes babies VERY cranky.

I am putting a picture of Jamie at 10 months and a picture of Finn from this week, aren't they cute?!

Yesterday Jamie told me he was "really very fond of fruit rolls". I said did you just say you were "really very fond of..."? He said yes! Crazy kid where does he learn this stuff. Today at Target when we picked up my prescription he used the money my aunt Jan sent for his birthday to buy 2 hot wheels. He handed the girl the cars and paid with his own money and got the change. It was so cute! He is getting sooo big. I don't know how my baby can be so big!

Friday yipee!

asdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdfasdf

asdfasdfadsfasdfasdfasdfasdfadsfaIt's Friday!!!! Yippee!!! I am so tired. I have been sick since last Friday and have barely made it through this week. I feel terrible, but I can't tell if going to the dr would help or if they would just say "yup, you're sick all right"! I need some sleep! But people who have a 3 year old and a almost 10 month old (I can't believe how big he is!) don't get sleep! Jamie seems like he is getting sick too. Which means I get to spend my Mother's Day weekend with a sick cranky toddler :) Oh well, I should be grateful that it is 9:30 and they are both asleep! Yeah :)

I put up a random cute picture of Jamie since I've already put up all the recent ones. Tomorrow Scott's family is coming for Mother's Day so I'll get some cute ones of Jamie with Ben and Sophie (Scott's cousin Wendy's kids - they are 4 and 2) whom Jamie adores. He went through a stage after Christmas where whenever he would get in trouble he would sob "me want Ben and Sohpie, me want Ben and Sophie come overs mine house" over and over again! When we went to their house for their birthday parties a couple weeks ago I made a fruit salad and I put lemon juice in the dressing and Jamie said "Ben and Sophie not like lemon". He is so funny.

The Crazy Life :)

Well, as predicted my posts have gotten fewer :)

Here are some pictures of the boys last weekend at a birthday party. Jamie drinking a juice box, Finn trying corn on the cob and the ride home. (Why do they get to take a nap on the way home, so that they are rested and refreshed when we get there and I am exhausted?)

This whole puppy thing is crazy! He is very sweet, but a handful to watch since he has decided if Jamie can pee on the carpet, so can he. Plus since Finn is almost as small as him, he loves to jump on Finn and play (bite) with him. As you can imagine Finn doesn't like this much and isn't quite fast enough to get away, so he just sits there and crys until someone saves him.

On top of that I seem to have gotten sick from a girl at work! Does it never end! Other than that we have decided to go on vacation at the end of the month and are trying to figure out exactly what to do. It is going to be our 4 year anniversary on June 5! I can't believe it's been that long, and yet it feels like we've been together forever (in a good way :)) It's very exciting to think of the many more years we have to come (God willing!)

We got a puppy!

Scott called me this morning. Someone had put a puppy in a box, taped it shut and left it outside in the sun in the parking lot of his work. He works in a machine shop so he couldn't keep it there, so Jamie, Finn and I went to pick him up. I asked Jamie if he wanted to go to daddy's work and pick up a puppy and he said "no, daddy's work boring. Me watch Wonder Pets" (which is a show where a duck, a guinea pig and a turtle save other animals) I said we were like the Wonder Pets saving the baby puppy. So he said "you sing song." So I had to sing the Wonder Pets song. Then he told me "you sing lounder, me can't hear you." The little dictator! So I sang louder, he said "you sing really loud"! So I sang the dumb song the whole way to Scott's work and we picked up this tiny puppy. I can't believe how mean people are. We stopped at Petco on the way home and it sure was fun trying to get out of the truck with a 3 year old, a 9 month old and a tiny puppy! Makes me appreciate the fact that I hardly ever go anywhere with them without another adult! Jamie loves his new puppy, but Finn's not quite sure. He is slower and so the puppy has chewed a bit on him, but he'll learn to get away! Unbelievably the puppy seems fixed and has only gone potty on the grass in the backyard, so he seems potty trained (which is more than I can say for Jamie!) He is very sweet and is tuckered out right now from chasing Jamie all day. We just have to get Jamie to stop picking him up all the time! We'll see how it works out, but if he stays this well behaved we have a new puppy :) It seems everyone has decided to name him happy, so we will see if that sticks (although Jamie wanted to name him donut...strange child :))

Finn takes a couple steps

Well, the video seemed to have worked (let me know if you can't see it) so here is one of Finn walking a couple of steps. We clap for him when he walks by himself and this morning he was actually clapping for himself as he walked! It was so cute, but of course I don't have a video of that :(

He is tired here, so he falls pretty quick, but he is taking 5-6 steps at a time. He is very slow and steady, he'll stand there balancing in between each step. The way he says it is so cute and I can tell he thinks it is one of the nicest things you can say to someone, even better than "I love you". And if he is especially snugglie he will say "mom you my big brother in the whole world." It is so cute and yet I want to laugh every time he says it because I'm pretty sure that is impossible to be someones mom and big brother at the same time! But he means it so nicely that I just thank him. Someday he will figure out what it means! It shows me how he gets all his definitions from how we use words in everyday language. Kind of scary! Makes me think of how daddy always wanted to teach us the alphabet all screwed up so that in Kindergarten we would sing "ezgitlehg..."! We usually tell him what a good big brother he is when he is being very nice to Finn, so he must think it is very high praise. Well I'd better get to cleaning up after the boys, they sure can tear a room apart in a matter of minutes, especially since Finn is mobile now!

Am I crazy???

We went shopping this morning. What a disaster! It's a good thing I don't pay attention to the many people likely staring at me and my child who is throwing a fit because he can't have spongebob yourgert. Cuz that's likely to be a good wholesome food...

Luckily Finn is fine as long as he has something to chew on. He's like a little dog now, he'll chew on your leg and he even started chewing on the couch! He bites the piping on the edge of the cushion and jerks his head back so that it rips out of his teeth. Very icky...

I'm off to work, but I thought I'd type a bit before I go.

My First Post!

Well, I've jumped on the blogging bandwagon. It sure is crowded ;)

I thought I should document the kids milestones and this seemed like a fun way to do it.

Jamie just turned 3 and he is talking up a storm. I mostly understand what he says and if I don't get it the first time he is more than happy to keep saying it until I get it! The key is trying to get him to be quiet :) This is a picture of him in a champ car. Scott and his mom took Jamie to Long Beach last weekend since it was the last time these cars would race with the engine set up the way it was. He had a blast and even got to sit in one with a blue helmet! He is so funny. He is putting stickers on paper (which is why I am allowed to type right now) and one of them ripped. He said "me having a hard time right now".

Finn just turned 9 months and he is almost walking. Just this morning he went 5 steps from one stool to another! He was very slow about it, standing trying to keep his balance. Very exciting, he'll be running around pretty soon. Jamie makes us clap for Finn everytime he walks, so now Finn looks at us like "where's the clapping? I'm going to do something cool" Here is a picture of him in the swing in the backyard. He was having so much fun!
